Week 1–3
Germination Stage
During the first three weeks, water 2–3 times a day for 10–15 minutes per zone. The goal is to keep the seedbed consistently moist, but not soaked. The best times to water are early morning, midday, and late afternoon before sunset.

Week 4–6 Establishment Stage
As the grass starts to establish, shift to watering once a day but more thoroughly. This helps the young roots grow deeper. Gradually begin spacing out watering times to encourage stronger, more resilient root systems.

Week 7 and Beyond Maintenance Stage
Once the lawn is established, water 2–3 times per week depending on weather conditions. Morning watering is best, as it reduces evaporation and lowers the risk of lawn diseases.

MOWING
- Mow when the grass reaches 3 - 4 inches tall.
- Use sharp blades and never remove more than 1/3 of the blade height.
- Mow when the grass is dry to avoid damage.
- Keep mower blades clean after each use.

FERTILIZING
- Your hydroseed includes a starter fertilizer. After 4–5 weeks, apply a high-nitrogen fertilizer (such as 25-0-10).
- Repeat fertilizer applications every 6–8 weeks during the growing season.
Use a broadcast spreader and follow label instructions to avoid burning your lawn.

TRAFFIC & PETS
- Avoid walking or placing objects on the seeded area until after the first mowing.
- Keep pets and children off to prevent soil compaction and seed damage.
- Don’t let vehicles, or heavy tools on the new grass.
- Put up a small fence or markers to remind everyone to stay off.

WEED CONTROL
- Some weeds may appear during early growth—this is normal.
- Do not apply herbicides until the lawn has been mowed 2–3 times and grass is at least 3 inches tall.
- Most weeds will disappear with regular mowing and healthy lawn growth.

EROSION & SLOPES
- Water gently on slopes to prevent runoff.
- For hilly areas, use shorter and more frequent watering sessions.
- Avoid any disturbance on slopes during germination.

EXPECTATIONS
- Germination Times by Grass Type:
- Ryegrass: 5–10 days
- Fescue: 10–14 days
- Bermuda: 14–21 days
- Native grasses: Up to 30+ days - Full establishment typically takes 6–12 weeks depending on conditions.
